GLACIER series – photograph with encaustic wax. Cross sections of prehistoric glaciers. Mineral sediments in water, layered, frozen in time. Icebergs everlasting in the arctic cold. Blues to browns. Global thermal winds cross the ice field. Impending climate crisis.
These are carved wooden panels, torched, with encaustic wax inlay. Twilight in the woods. Sky and sunlight vanishing, horizontal rays through the dense woodland. Day creatures settle, as the nocturnal emerge. Silhouettes diminish on the horizon as daylight fades, gracefully welcoming the luminescent moon through drifting clouds.
Vintage envelopes encased in encaustic wax. 50 letters from 100 years ago. Stories, tales, chronicles, history, gossip, speculation, fabrication, confessions, betrayals, truths, and loves. The lost and fading novella.
