Photograph with encaustic wax. Quiet walk through the country landscape. Ghostly shadows in the thick atmosphere. Phantom visions and memories fading in the greyness.
Wall sculpture, found wood, cast plaster, and acrylic paint. Spines, vessels, and life lines. Journey and pathway connecting with nature.
These are carved wooden panels, torched, with encaustic wax inlay. Twilight in the woods. Sky and sunlight vanishing, horizontal rays through the dense woodland. Day creatures settle, as the nocturnal emerge. Silhouettes diminish on the horizon as daylight fades, gracefully welcoming the luminescent moon through drifting clouds.
Poetry carved in the rings of trees. Stories told, journeys documented, historic cycles captured in a lifetime. Good years, bad years, prosperity and despair. Embracing the destination. Bombarded with planetary disaster, nature’s fight for preservation, balance, beauty, and survival prevail.
